My name is Tony Turin and I was born and raised in Welches, Oregon, and graduated from Sandy High School in 2002. After high school, I completed a Bachelors’s degree and a Doctorate degree in Optometry from Pacific University. Shortly after graduating in 2010, I was directly commissioned as a Captain in the US Army. Most of my military commitment was spent working at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. During this time, I worked as the Chief of Optometry at Womack Army Medical Clinic, I covered on-call in the emergency department, and I evaluated more patients than any Optometrist in the area. In 2013, I became a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, something only ten percent of optometrists achieve. I have also gone on to complete my Masters in Business Administration. I have been married to my beautiful wife since 2004, and have two amazing kids.

Before moving to Oregon in 2018, Chrissy worked as a Hospice Care Nurse in San Antonio, Texas. There she had the blessing to care for her beloved mom during her mom’s last days.

Then Chrissy, with her wonderful husband, came to Oregon to help his mother with her local restaurants and to start a new journey in their lives along with their two sons.

In 2021, she decided to return to a former trade, the wonderful world of cosmetology. Chrissy started working in a couple salons and doing special events and weddings. She absolutely loves being a part of her client’s special days! After a few years of establishing amazing clients and life-long friends, she felt the need to move to something more structured but still wanted to have time to meet with her clients on weekends.

That decision led her in October 2024 to, what she said was, “an amazing opportunity to join the Mt Hood team!” She now says it has truly been one of the biggest blessings in her life for herself and her family. And we feel her joining our team was a long-awaited answered prayer. We couldn’t be more excited about her potential and her own excitement for personal growth as an Optician. Her warm smile and sincere compassion have also been a great addition to the team.

When Chrissy is not working, she loves spending time with her husband and busy teenage boys, watching them play sports or going on adventures to find something new to see and do. She also enjoys just being with herself and having a good book or puzzle where she can find a moment of peace, which is very rare in their house.
